Overseas Vietnamese invited to celebrate Ha Noi's birthday Update: 07/24/2010
Overseas Vietnamese in Vientiane and Paris were called online to join the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Ha Noi yesterday. Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Nguyen Thanh Son and Overseas Vietnamese Commission chairman reminded the participants the anniversary was just one of 63 anniversaries the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural organisation, UNESCO, had chosen to associate with during 2010-11.

1,247 Buddhist nuns and monks will gather for the Great Buddhist Festival to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi scheduled to take place in Hanoi from July 27 to August 2. he festival will comprise two major activities- a procession of the statue of King Ly Thai To from the Do Temple in Bac Ninh to Hanoi and a three-day ceremony to pray for peace at the Thang Long Royal Citadel.

Artisans to decorate streets for flower festival Update:
There will be an a frenzy of flowers at Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi next month, as craftsmen take over the centre with their artistic and floral creations. Culture ship to berth in HCM City Update:
The Nippon Maru, a ship that set sail from Japan carrying 328 youth ambassadors from Japan and the 10 member nations of the ASEAN grouping at the end of October, will dock at HCM City’s Saigon Port on Nov. 26. The sailing trip spanning 11 countries takes place every year under a cultural exchange programme funded by the Japanese Government.
