Saigon Railway Transport Corporation will have two more train services for the Saigon – Phan Thiet route to meet the rising demands of tourists and residents, said a company’s official.

Dinh Van Sang, deputy general director the trains, called PT1 and PT2, will begin operating from August 18.

According, the PT1 starts at Phan Thiet Railway Station at 2.30am and arrives in Saigon at 7am. The PT2 starts at Saigon Railway Station at 4.30pm and arrives in Phan Thiet at 9.30pm.

Earlier, the SPT11 and SPT12 trains of the Saigon Railway Transport Corporation have transported more than 50,000 passengers for the past three months, said Mr Sang.

However, they have met only 70% of the demand of passengers, particularly at weekends. At present, passengers who want to travel to Phan Thiet from Saigon by train have to book seats three or four days in advance.
