VB 055: LAOS – CAMBODIA TOUR (14 Days/ 13 Nights)  From  

DAY 1 : ARRIVE VIENTIANE – AT LEISURE ( --/-- / D )

Upon arrive at Vientiane airport and after customs & immigration formalities, transfer with your guide to your hotel. Vientiane is located on the majestic Mekong River, Vientiane (translated as 'sandalwood city') dates from the 10th century, but has been the capital of Laos from the early 16th century to the present. Vientiane is a relatively small, laid-back city, with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture and old Buddhist temples to explore. After checking in at your hotel the remainder of the day is at leisure.

DAY 2 : VIENTIANE – FULL DAY CITY TOUR ( B/L/-- )

This morning your local guide will meet you at your hotel for a city tour, which visits some of the highlights of the Laotian capital. Visit Vientiane’s great food and vegetable market. This is a wonderful venue for encountering the charming and fun-loving Laotians. Wat Sisaket, the oldest original temple in Vientiane. Wat Sisaket features remarkable frescoes and over 6,000 Buddha images. Nearby is Haw Phra Kaew - the main structure originally housed the famous Emerald Buddha that now resides in Bangkok. One of the most photographed images of Vientiane is Putousay - the victory gate also known as Anousavari, with architecture inspired by the Arc of Triumph in Paris. Another famous landmark is the Phra That Luang stupa. This great sacred stupa, considered the national symbol, is said to contain relics of Lord Buddha. After lunch visit the weaving village of Nongbuathong, taking a short walk atthe bank of Mekong River. Dinner will be served specializing in local cuisine with Lao traditional dancing show.

DAY 3 : VIENTIANE HALF - DAY TOUR ( B/L/--)

After breakfast at hotel, morning enjoy a half-day tours to visit Xieng Khouane Buddha Park, a religious sculpture park located by the Mekong River approximately 24 kilometres south of Vientiane which captivates visitors with an unusual blend of Buddhist and Hindu imagery. Return to the town for lunch – after lunch transfer to your hotel and remainder of day is at leisure or you can explore Vientiane city on your own. Dinner is on your own arrangement for your choices and tries other dishes Meal: Breakfast, Lunch Accommodation: see below On your arrival in Luang Prabang Airport you will be transferred with your guide to the hotel for check-in. Remainder of the day is at leisure until dinner time.

DAY 4 : LUANG PRABANG CITY SIGHTSEEING ( B/L/-- )

Today you will visit some of Luang Prabang’s priceless monuments on a tour around this atmospheric small city, now under UNESCO protection as a World Heritage Site. After breakfast head off with your guide to visit Wat Xieng Thong - often said to be Luang Prabang’s most beautiful. It is characterized by its several roofs sweeping low to the ground and the impressive ‘tree of life’ mosaic. The gilt panel on the exterior of the chapel depicts semi-erotic episodes from the Ramayana. Next take a visit to Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo Stupa. Next stop is Luang Prabang’s National Museum, formerly the Royal Palace. After taking a break for lunch at a local restaurant, depart by road to visit Tad Khuang SiiWaterfall. Along the way to the waterfalls you can visit the Khmu minority village of Ban Thapaene or one of the Hmong villages that you pass. On the way back to town if time permits it may be possible to visit Ban Xom village, known for its cotton production and Ban Khong village to see how traditional paper is made. Sunset can be enjoyed at Vat Siphouthabath or with a cold drink at one of the cafes located along the Mekong River. This evening enjoy a cultural performance in Luang Prabang’s Royal Theatre. Afterwards you can take a stroll around Luang Prabang’s fabulous night market with your local guide - where there is an overwhelming selection of local handicrafts on offer.

DAY 5 : MEKONG RIVER TRIP TO PAK OU CAVES ( B/L/-- )

This morning there is the option to start the day early with one of the most memorable sights of Luang Prabang. At dawn hundreds of saffron robed monks move silently through the streets to collect alms (offerings of food). It’s early but well worth the wake up call! After returning to your hotel for breakfast, begin a relaxing Mekong River trip with your guide on the mighty Mekong to visit the sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves, the home to many thousands of Buddha images that were placed here by local people since 16th century. Enjoy a picnic lunch nearby, before returning to your boat and beginning the journey back to Luang Prabang town. En route it is possible to stop to visit Ban Xanghai village, where local people produce Lao rice wine. Return to Luang Prabang and transfer to your private vehicle and take a drive out of town to the nearby village of Ban Phanom, a weaving village populated by Lu minority people that originally came from Sipsongpanna in Southern China. Climb up Phou Sii hill stands right in the center of this small city. It is possible to climb its 350 steps to enjoy panoramic views for many miles in each direction.

DAY 6 : LUANG PRABANG – NEXT DESTINATION ( B/--/-- )

Breakfast at hotel, this morning you can explore the city of Luang Prabang on your own or be free at leisure until the time to transfer to the Airport flying to Siemriep .

DAY 7 : SIEM REAP ARRIVAL (D)

Arrival in the city of World Heritage, Angkor Wat! Our car and guide will pick you up at the airport then transfer to hotel for check in. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap.

DAY 8: ANGKOR HISTORY PARK (B,L,D)

AM: After breakfast at the hotel, visit the famous old palace, Angkor Thom within Angkor Thom are Bayon – Baphoun,, Terrace of Elephant, Phemean Akas, Terrace of Leper king. Afterwards visit Taprom Temple. Back to Siem Reap town and have lunch at local restaurant.PM: Visit the amazing Angkor Wat . Watch sunset from the top of Bakheng hill. Dinner at local restaurant with buffet and traditional Apsara Show. O/N in Siem Reap

DAY 9: TONLE SAP LAKE – KOM PONG THOM (B,L,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to take cruise on Tonle Sap Lake, visit the floating village and fisherman’s life, then visit the Old Market. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, transfer to Kompong Thom Province down town. (Kampong Thom is ’s second largest province). Upon arrival, move to the hotel for check in. Dinner at local restaurant. O/N in Kompong Thom

DAY 10 : SAMBO PREI KUK – PHNOM PENH (B,L,D)

After breakfast, transfer to Sambor Prei Kuk, the antique capital of Chenla (early 7th century). Originally called Ishanapura, Sambor Prei Kuk is home to the most impressive group of pre-Angkorian monuments with more than 100 temples scattered through the lush forest. Have lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, transfer to Phnom Penh crossing to the Kompong Cham Province, Take a short stop at Nokor Bachey Temple (in Kompong Cham), then drive towards Phnom Penh, upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check in. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

DAY 11 : PHNOM PENH – SIHANOUK VILLE (B,L,D)

AM: After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Sihanouk Ville on national route # 4, about 230km from Phnom Penh, take time around 3-4 hours, upon arrival Sihanouk Ville, transfer to hotel for check in then free leisure by own guest activities. O/N at hotel in Sihanouk

DAY 12: SIHANOUK VILLE (B

After breakfast at hotel, free leisure by own guest activities. O/N in Sihanouk Ville

DAY 13 : SIHANOUK VILLE – PHNOM PENH (B,L,D)

AM: After breakfast at the hotel, our guide and coach will pick you up at the hotel, then move back to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, have lunch at local restaurant before checking in the hotel. After checking in, visit Royal Palace, Wat Phnom, Central Market and Independence Monument. Dinner at local restaurant. O/N in Phnom Penh

DAY 14 : PHNOM PENH DEPARTURE (B)

MA: After breakfast at the hotel, free leisure activities by the guests then move to the airport for flight off. End of Tour .
